IJMC As the Mud Thickens

IJMC - As the Mud Thickens

I would have thought travelling throughout the European continent might
keep me sheltered from American politics. Far from it. Alas, us silly
Americans can not even agree to recount votes without threatening
lawsuits. But big surprise, the first lawsuit to hit the courts comes from
the side who did not threaten first. And the vote drags on. But I move,
having left France yesterday to sit in a NetCafe in Madrid, Spain
today. Of course, I already shot 3 rolls of film and saw the Royal Palace
among other things...and tomorrow I will wake up in Portugal. Woohoo! I
already know I will be in Geneva on Thursday, so someone call ahead and
warn them to keep the U.N. open, as the Ambassador will be in town! -dave

A recent quote from Hillary:

"We are a very different country than we were 200 years ago," Clinton
said. "I believe strongly that in a democracy, we should respect the will
of the people and to me, that means it's time to do away with the
Electoral College and move to the popular election of our president."

Was it only 8 years ago that Bill Clinton was elected with an electoral
majority...and only 43% of the popular vote.

My my my...how soon we forget...or at least some of us.
