IJMC Don't Grow Old

                      IJMC - Don't Grow Old

I like how some days of my life run in themes. I went to the gym to put
in some time on the treadmill. While I was there the lady who lived
across the street where I grew up came in. You see, I used to babysit for
her children. She commented on how much more mature I seemed since she'd
seen me last, about seven years ago. Now then, one such incidence does
not a theme make...but the fact that I was watching a special on aging on
PBS while treading away helps. The third, although perhaps not the charm,
is tonight's post. Since I've now told you the three in the reverse
order, finding tonight's post earlier today, then the aging special, and
finally meeting the lady again you should see the theme as well. -dave

I've sure gotten old. I've had 2 By-pass surgeries. A hip
replacement, new knees. Fought prostate cancer, and diabetes.
I'm half blind, can't hear anything quieter than a jet engine,
take 40 different medications that make me dizzy, winded, and
subject to blackouts. Have bouts with dementia. Have poor
circulation, hardly feel my hands and feet anymore. Can't
remember if I'm 85 or 92. Have lost all my friends. But.....
Thank God, I still have my Florida driver's license!
